Your Marathon Moment
Four days before I run in my first marathon and can you believe I already have butterflies? I am excited and scared and well, a little of everything in between.
But enough about me…I want to hear from you marathon veterans out there!

Whether you have ran in one marathon or thousands - Do tell me of your experience! Leave me a comment with some helpful tips, stories, regrets, complaints, or last minute advice.
Granted I have nothing to give you in return but my admiration and love of a community who has already embraced me with open arms. That might not be enough, but I would appreciate reading about your insights all just the same. Thank you for sharing – and on your marks, get set, GO!

I know you have all of that and more.
I'll cross my fingers and send the best wishes from Switzerland.
I recommend running close to the spectators so you can give high fives. Amazing what that does for both runner and spectator.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you may not want to try on your first marathon but whenever beer is offered I take it.
Enjoy your day!
Enjoy race week and resist the temptation to get one last fast run in. Rest, eat well (and eat enough,) enjoy the expo on Friday or early Saturday and rest the rest of Saturday. Don't worry so much about the sleep the night before (you will be amp'ed up) and make sure you get great sleep on Friday. How exciting!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any sleep before my Boston Qualifier at the California International Marathon this last December but it didn't seem to matter. The training will get you through. Focus on easy at first to get warmed up. Hydrate alot and get your electrolytes. Just have fun and enjoy! I will try and watch you finish. My first Marathon was really tough. I almost couldn't continue at mile 22 when my legs seized up. But then I only took ten weeks to train. Just keep going. You will do it!
ReplyDeleteI say many thanks for the info you provide to increase knowledge
