This & That
What a whirlwind of a week! I do hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Instead of my typical post – I have included some highlights from this week past as a change of pace.
Who says compression socks aren’t stylish? Yep! That’s me. I boldly went where no other Runnista has gone before…And I might even do it again! Do you think I pulled it off?
On Thanksgiving Day I ran in the Alamden Run Turkey Run 5k in San Jose! I really enjoyed this race! So much so that I wrote a blog post about it for the San Francisco Marathon; Trotting in San Jose. Check it out. I also included in the post some tidbits on The Silicon Valley Turkey Trot event where I volunteered a few hours pre race helping out with bib pick-up at Sports Basement in Sunnyvale.
The four day weekend allowed me to get away and do a little road trippin'. With Keri and her pooch Shilo as companions, we stayed the night in Somerset to visit with friends. Hung out in S. Lake Tahoe at my parents cabin, then off to Incline Village. My calves are currently on fire from an awesome run we did down to the lake then back up to the house. With the challenging, steep hill climbs I was running on my toes a lot. My calves never hurt so good. It perhaps did not help much that we then did some hiking in the snow.
How did you spend your holiday weekend? And don't leave a single detail out! :)

Finally met in person the fabulous Meg. We connected on the daily mile and seem to run all the same races! |
The fantastic Miss Elise surprised me as I had no idea she was going to be there! So awesome to see her again! |

I'm a tree...Who apparently is missing a glove! |
And that’s my week! Of course there was more involved but I don’t give up all my secrets in just one posting! I am very thankful that I was able to get away and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Thankful for my friends and family who keep me laughing, and lastly, that I was able to run even if it was a low mileage week due to my leg adductor still healing from overuse.

That event is so much more up my alley. Hopefully they are planning on doing it again next year.
ReplyDeleteIf you were at Sports Basement the Saturday before thanksgiving then our paths crossed! It was crazy that day but good business for the store.
I love that you styled your compression socks!
