A Good Week
Phew! This week has certainly been busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
On Sunday, I took a little drive out to Tahoe to cheer on one of my fabulous running friends Katie running the Tahoe Marathon. Dude - This girl kicks arse! She placed 4th woman overall! Totally was the sign I made that gave her those super running powers!
On
Monday, I sat at the computer allllllll day waiting to hear of “The Big
Announcement!” And then just like that it went viral and I am so
honored and humbled to once again be serving The San Francisco Marathon as an ambassador!
Speaking of SF Marathon Ambassadors. Fellow Ambassador Monika will be going into some serious surgery on Monday! She just found out she has a brain tumor. I simply adore Monika to pieces. After all, if it wasn’t for her and Glam Runner, I would have never worn a tutu while running the half in the SF Marathon! Not only that, but she has such a positive outlook on life. So strong, and such an inspiration. My thoughts and prayers will certainly go out to her! And yes, my miles too! Check out the Facebook page Miles for Mokie where you can dedicate your running miles to her from Oct. 8th - 28th.
On Thursday, I volunteered with the California State Park Foundation to help clean up Castle Rock State Park. I love running the trails here and wanted to give back to a park that I love so! I spent the morning removing graffiti and hiding trails that are dangerous and not suppose to be hiked on. I was surrounded by climbers, runners, and people passionate about saving state parks, and I couldn’t be happier. I hope to participate in future park clean-ups to come.
Whoa - Completely grateful as I received a nice little package from Svelte CalNaturale this week. MMM I love Svelte and I am not just saying this because they sent me such wonderful goodies! The opinions are my own that I am just passing along! Elise introduced me to this fabulous protein drink and I am seriously hooked. Dairy free, Gluten free, my favorite is the cappuccino flavor which is perfect after my long runs. I have some free redeemable coupons. If you are interested in trying it, just let me know and I will be happy to send one your way via slow mail.
20 miles tomorrow! I always seem to get so nervous running such a distance. You think by now I would be a pro, but nope! Still figuring it all out!!! Good luck to all my friends running races this weekend!! Twin Cities, Bizz, San Jose Rock n Roll, Portland...Just to name a few!
