2012 Year in Review Q&A Style

A year in review Q&A style. I took this from Paulette who in return, pulled the idea from other bloggers. So, instead of me blabbing on and on about what a wonderful year 2012 was, I will just simply answer a few running questions.

Best Race Experience -

So many races, how can I pick just one? I will say, that one of my favorite race experiences of the year was running a Half Marathon in Germany. What an amazing opportunity! Running truly is the universal language! And it was awesome to explore a trail that I might not have seen if I hadn’t participated in the event!

Best Run -

This is a tricky one, but some of my best runs seem to include running with friends. Katie, Paulette, Meg, Elise, Atina, Shannon T., Shannon A., Jessica, Layla and Trish are just a few names that come to mind out of many who I just adore running with. I always have the best of runs with these girls! I should also add UMM, even though he sometimes is not so patient with my slower than his pace!

Best Piece of New Gear -

Love my skirt from RunningSkirts! It holds my favorite colors and even includes red! Do you know how hard it is to find red running clothes for chicks? I mean really, enough with this pink stuff, I want more red!

Best Running Advice Received -

“Come what may and roll with the punches!” Yep! A good reminder that running can be unpredictable, but in the end of it all, just keep running!

Most Inspiration Runners -

My friends, the runners and non running friends alike. Each of them inspire me and I am so grateful to have them in my life. The San Francisco Marathon Ambassadors. We all come from many different walks of life, but the support and strength each one of them holds as runners is so completely inspirational. Also, the Running Addicts. I have seen them constantly push the limits and then they push some more. Not only that, but so community oriented. They are truly committed to the running community!

If you could sum up your year in running in three words, what would they be -

Humbled - Humbled to be surrounded by such an amazing group of runners and friends who like I mentioned above; inspire me everyday to be a better person. To be a better runner.

Amazed - Amazed at how far I have come and how much I love to run! Such a change from those days of youth where I just hated running. Now, I am truly passionate about all things running!

Happy - This year I have faced and conquered many running obstacles and challenges. Through it all, running has made me very happy and has brought so much joy to my life!

Happy New Year! May 2013 be yet another great year for running!

  2. I seriously love these Q & A recaps, I'm thinking this is going to have to happen. I also love the words you chose to describe your running year. Sometimes we all need to be humbled a little :) Can't wait to see what you do in 2013 -- especially with that first ultra on tap!
